Project - Fonterra site cooling water and glycol system upgrade.

Fonterra upgraded the current cooling water and glycol system to increase the chilled water capacity. The project was referred to as the ‘Cooling Water and Glycol Upgrade Project’. The project included two new refrigeration chillers, two new dual cell cooling towers and the associated equipment, instrumentation and controls.

Included in the project were the following services:

  • Install new AL20 cable tray support systems.

  • Design & install new PLC IO panel.

  • Install new supplies to ammonia unit VSD’s from existing MCC.

  • Install Schneider Altivar process VSD’s for new 110kw circulation pumps.

  • Pre-wire, connect and commission new Instruments including, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, control valves, process valves, isolation hand valves, flow meters, flow switches, isolator feed backs.

  • Install general lighting for new plant including emergency lighting.

  • Provide full ‘as built’ electrical schematics drawings for the project.
